Have you ever wondered what it takes to be on Broadway? At one point, Desmond Sean Ellington did too. Today, he is a touring Broadway actor and vocal artist, but in his own words, he is living a dream that he honestly didn’t have for himself. Growing up in Little Rock, AR, he went to college for engineering even though his first desire was to sing professionally. His biggest challenge? His network and not really knowing how to break into the industry.
In this episode, Desmond candidly shares how he was able to counter lack of opportunity with guts and initiative, the importance of artist preparation, how to nail your next audition, and how being open to change can ultimately shift you in the direction of your dreams.

Aretha Franklin, Chicago, Gladys Knight, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, The Doobie Brothers, and Smokey Robinson are all legends who share something in common. They all benefited from deals constructed by legendary booking agent Larry Farber. If there was ever a guest that personified the words "Musically Hitched" it's him. From his early days traveling as a touring keyboardist in local bands, to becoming a historic partner in one of the country's largest entertainment agencies, to founding Middle C Jazz, currently one of the top destinations for live music in the eastern US, he has literally made music his life's work. In this memoir-like episode, Larry details:
- How randomly encountering a piano sparked a fire that he's never been able to quench
- How he closed over 50,000 deals working with local to internationally-known artists
- Ways you can practically serve others through your creativity and make money at that same time
- Why forging successful partnerships (in music and business) helps to cement your legacy
Trust us when we say these are only a fraction of the topics we dived into during this interview!

We live in a culture that is always "on". When's the last time you heard anyone tell you that success involves rest? It's not popular, and probably won't go viral, but knowing when and how to pause on purpose is critical to the journey of the entertainment professional.

In this episode, Kevin discusses everything from receiving his first big break via a surprise call to tour with Gospel legend Shirley Caesar, to transitioning from football to the Navy to ultimately selling out to music, what it’s like touring up to 270 days a year, securing endorsements, and how the Summit was the catalyst for connecting musicians like Francesca Simone to a life changing opportunity with Beyoncé.
